Christmas Beetle (Lamprima aurata)

This beautiful beetle (Golden Stag - blue form female - Lamprima aurata) flew under my parked car today. I photographed her in my studio on a white card with a flash and released her as soon as possible. In Melbourne these beetles emerge in late spring/early summer around our christmas time.
