Hello,
Here's my second attempt to make a stack photo.
About 110 pictures stacked in Zerene.
I used a yongnuo ring flash with special diffuser.
180mm tamron lens with a Canon 50 mm lens reversed in front.
Greetings Arwin

Hi Arwin, definitely something has gone wrong with this stack. What your rig looks like? You have to find the cause of that blur, which is not normal. Keep trying! Surely your next stack will look better.

Looking at Rik's ray-drawing, you'll see that you might do better to fully open the rear lens..
FAQ: Stopping down a lens Combo
My own experience of combos is that they vary quite a lot. Edge peroformance is poor with some. I haven't tried a pairing for years other than for a demo, though.

You should definitely try that, open up the telephoto rear lens and stop down the reversed 50, f5.6 or even a whisker higher f-stop is probably a good starting point for this sort of magnification. For more magnification open up the front lens even more, although be aware if it's a standard 50 it probably won't be very sharp when wide open in this kind of configuration
