A seed pod, but still searching for an ID.....
I often saw them and wondered where they came from.
Had them under the stereo a couple of times, about 4mm I guess.
EDIT: your 'myth explode' post gave away the size: slightly lager than 3mm.
EDIT 2: Is it the seed pod from a Birch?

Yes, it's from a White Birch, Betula papyrifera (also known as Paper Birch and Canoe Birch).
