Old dragonfly

Post by Pau »

Yes, a little old, (drangonflies may be much older, from Carboniferous period), from Jurassic limestone beds in Solnhofen, Germany, 150My.
Photographed in Naturkunde museum in Berlin. Canon EOS 20d, 17-85mm lens, built in flash (a very pedestrian tourist setup)

Interesting photo. :D It is amazing that so many insects, as it were, made it through the End Permian. Just think what it would be like, if all of them had survived!
