hi all,
I lastly posted some of my showing-off pictures, this is just average "normal" quality but showing more of my main interest: behaviour of the little friends. This shows the female (the fat one) and the male in copula yesterday. Insertion somewhere mid-under instead of at the end of abdomen was new to me. Mind, I'm only the simple photographer no biology degree on insects or whatever... nature is a daily adventure for me. Copulation in this species goes quite fast, a matter of seconds instead of minutes, and very lifely much movement. This was best I could do.

Re: Athalia cordata (18+)
I've never seen sawflies mating. In at least many species, the ovipositer is centered under the abdomen, so I guess it makes sense that their reproductive opening for mating is also there.
