During the trip to Ohio last summer, one of the highlights on the woodland hikes was finding-the legendary Arrowshaped micrathena, Micrathena sagittate. I had no idea they would be there, as I thought they lived farther south. I would be ecstatic to find just one, and I saw several!

What a lovely thing! Many members of this group decorate the outermost support lines of their webs with widely spaced tufts of white silk, like the warning spheres we put on high power lines near airports, as if to caution birds not to fly into the support lines and break them...

Such a cool find and set! Reminds me of the Gasteracantha sp we find in our part of the woods
