Interesting shot David. Things like lichens and mosses seem to go well together, liverworts too. I recently opted for a lighter outfit to carry afield a Canon Rebel T8i and was quite impressed with the kit lens, EF-S 18-55mm that came with it. Though as always it seems, the kit lenses get a bad write up in reviews, but I was quite impressed with the one that came with my T8i however, it is very sharp and has excellent close-up capability on its own and so I added a Canon 58mm D250 close-up lens on a whim, and it proved to be even more delightful.
