Can't find this duck in "Birds of North America." Can anybody ID bthis?

I noticed the duck is banded.

An image search for "crested duck" turns up loads of similar ones.

It is apparently a weird breed of domestic duck. Cool bird!

No idea, but it could be piebald, resulting in white patches. Ducks also readily form interspecies hybrids. I see mallard in there and I don't know what else.

Domesticated ducks are mallards so it all tracks.

Interesting looking duck! May have seen something like this at Woodstock, can't be sure. Just barely remember the 60's. :smt017
