The wife bought a Venus fly trap (Dionaea muscipula) from a store.

Oil blister beetle (Meloe sp.). This is a male, with their characteristic weird antennae.

First, gorgeous pics! Nice composition and very detail-rich.
Second, it is a crime to post a picture of a blister beetle on your bare finger without elaborating. Is...is that OK?

Thank you! Perhaps some blister beetles are something to not handle, but the ones around here seem ok to handle with care. However, if they are annoyed overly much they 'play dead', while exuding an oil from their joints. I would assume that would be irritating ,but I don't handle them when they do that.
