Weevil

Post by Picosvistas »

Thank goodness for digital! Found this diminutive iridescent little weevil the other day, I think it is Polydrusus formosus, about 6mm long. These three images are the net result of 92 frames. Got to love handheld stacking of live specimens. Suffolk UK.

Canon 5D Mk4, 100mm macro +25mm ext & Raynox 250. Stacked in Zerene and finished in LR & PS

Excellent.

Does the 5D Mk4 performs by itself focus bracketing for stacking?

No, not as standard. These shots were all taken by moving a fraction forward between each image. In this case I used a small beanbag to support the camera and enable smooth movement.

Beautiful work! That takes some serious skill. I see these weevils around here.
