How to open a Leica ergonomic head?

Post by Milou »

hello,

If anybody has ever open a Leica ergo head (ref 10445822) to clean its inside, I would be glad to get information about the process...
Mine has some dust and small black little bits (from bellows ?) inside I would like to remove....

In fact both tubes holding eyepieces are glued and therefore cannot be unscrewed, as in a "classic head !
Only the bottom part could be opened, considering the visible screw heads .........

But it could be risky to unscrew all of them without any schema as perhaps some of them are holding prism support.....

Therefore if anybody has a schema, or experience for cleaning this ergo head inside, I would be very interested to know that
Thank you

I'm curious as well. The screws on the bottom will loosen the black bellows, to allow at least partial cleaning.

But Perhaps not only black bellows is fixed by these screws....

Perhaps anybody having such a non-working ergo head could try to unscrew its bottom, if no feedback or schema is found?

I've also read in user manual that a maintenance in Leica after sales service is advisable for this ergo head!
But I'm afraid such a service should be extremely expensive (does anybody try it?)......

If anybody else already went further in this issue?
