Size of square head on Reichert Zetopan phase carousel adjustment screws
I have phase contrast and an IK contrast condenser carousel for a Reichert Zetopan. For the phase rings (and correspondingly on the IK condenser) there are tiny square headed screws to adjust the centring. For the information of the community the square is 1.12mm square and it can be manipulated with an English Square size 2, Swiss Square size 9 or Indian Square size 9 pocket watch key if its shaft is suitably thin; my key, which works, has a 2.46mm diameter.

Re: Size of square head on Reichert Zetopan phase carousel adjustment screws
Last estate sale I went to had a bunch of watchmaker's tools, and I picked up a set of square head drivers from 0.8mm up to 1.5mm. I was not sure what they would be used for but now I know I should probably hang onto them. Are there other places where these small square screws are used?

I can confirm the same screw heads on my IK condenser carousel but I have not encountered them anywhere else on my Zetopan yet; but I am still getting to know my Zetopanray_parkhurst wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 3:28 pmLast estate sale I went to had a bunch of watchmaker's tools, and I picked up a set of square head drivers from 0.8mm up to 1.5mm. Well, the tools I acquired were male square drivers, not the female keys shown in the pics.

The square head screwdrivers you have sound like Robertson screwdrivers possibly. We use them a lot in Canada.ray_parkhurst wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 4:55 pmWell, the tools I acquired were male square drivers, not the female keys shown in the pics.

I have a few square drive / Robertson tools, mostly hex tips for magnetic drivers, though I rarely have opportunity to use them since the square drive screws are uncommon here in CA. But the smallest Robertson tools I have are pretty large compared with the jeweler's tools from the estate sale. I'm thinking there must be some watch or clock mfr that uses tiny Robertson-like screws or adjusters.brettpim wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 5:32 pmThe square head screwdrivers you have sound like Robertson screwdrivers possibly. On this set of pocket watch keys I just bought, the best fit is the #10
