I haven't photographed anything for nearly two years, nor I did macro photography... I would like to resume my activity...
I had already made a wooden board before, and then here some members mentioned to me frying pans, frisbees etc... and I always chewed the idea of drawing something in printable 3D...I did it now...
It's dimensioned and works fine with my Olympus O-MD system
EDIT: if anyone expresses an interest I can gladly provide the *STL files for print and make a "part II" post with the details of the screws, nuts, knobs... and the construction details; I don't have a printer... I paid an online company to print it... in the end, with screws, knobs, etc... it cost about 25 euros to produce one...

Lovely bit of kit.
well done on the design and following though to completion.
light enough for any field trip, and really impressed with the tree climbing ability.
get a patent?

Antonio
I admire your design skills. I like this because becoming immobile recently this would enable me to get my macro back to ground level in a productive way.
I would be very pleased if you would send your .stl's to share with me.
And Part II specs !!
Best Wishes, John

Re: Ground Pod for mushrroms and alikes...
For Mushroms I would say best thing is a bag full of seeds (rice, corn, etc) Easy to place the camera on top very close to the ground and acts short of ballhead.
