Nikon MM objective object-sensor distance?

Post by Lou Jost »

There is information on the internet about working distance for some telecentric MM objectives, but I see in Robert O'Toole's closeuphotography.com site that the MM 10x objective comes in at least three different lengths. If they are all parfocal, as I'd expect, then their working distances must be different from each other. A more robust parameter would be the sensor to object distance, which may be the same for most of these objectives, even of different powers. That's true for Mitutoyo telecentric measuring objectives, which all have the same sensor to object distance (280mm).

Does anyone know the sensor to object distance for the Nikon MM 3x, 5x, 10x, and 20x objectives?

I would think parfocal distance would be the standard measurement, shoulder to subject.

Parfocal distance for the MM series is always 126mm.

Cheers,
