Need some help identifying a part

I need help identifying a part i found in a box of microscope parts I recently bought. No idea what that is,

For the Nikon Apophot. It replaces the big trinocular head on the stand dovetail and allows a regular Lke, Ske series head to be mounted. The Apophot nosepiece then mounts on the bottom circular dove tail; or mag changer, epi arm, etc.

I seem to recall it was used with an inclined monocular phototube with a 100/100 slider for early transmitted light fluorescence photomicrography
