Benjamin, please, keep calm...
No need to sell your Axiostar if it works well: it's a very nice scope. To get DF you can buy DF stops from other sellers, even the original zeiss one does appear on ebay although not very often. You can also couple a dedicated DF condenser that is much nicer for high magnification.
Please measure the condenser mounting dovetail diameter and the condenser height and let me know: if it is the same than the one for Standard series, that condensers sells often, sometimes at reasonable prices

You can easily make darkfield sliders. I make DF stops each year with my students: it's easy and works well for up to 20X: just make a plastic slider of the adequate dimension and glue a black disc. You can use the "unkind seller" stops as model just measuring your slot opening and scaling the dimensions

Yes, but it's not going to be the same as having a proper set of filters.

His filters can do darkfield up to a 40x objective (I think). His filters look decent quality, something I myself cannot possibly achieve.

Yes, you can: I'll explain how to make them later if you're interested.

As for the scope, it's still in the post.

I just hope that when it arrives it's in working condition, with everything, and most importantly the tube lens in good condition.

I would expect that the seller would do a basic clean of the scope before shipping to save me the trouble.

There is nothing special about a dark field stop made by a microscope company. I can assure you that the ones made by Pau's students do exactly the same things. And when you make them yourself you learn about the technique and you can size them exactly the way you want.

If you want Rheinberg illumination there is a well known seller whose ID handle used to be shawsrus and is maybe now optitec2020

He has a rating of 850 and no negs in the last year.

I am pretty sure this is the same (very nice I might add fellow) Probably a member here too. Mike if you are speak up. Or if I am confused somebody clarify.

Edit:Perhaps they are two different people

I will keep looking at different options. There are a few. Many are DIY style, some others are more using modified parts and adapting them to my use.

Well I saw how to make Rheinberg filters.

Not hard at all. Just need to use 32mm and 16-20mm punches.

Not a bad idea. I could adapt this for rheinberg stuff without needing to buy those filters.

As for COL filters, and the like, I'd want a more precise solution.
