NY Times review of new Sony FF cameras

Post by DQE »

I found this review of the new Sony FF cameras and camera bodies to be interesting even though it is not highly technical or thorough:

https://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/21/tech ... wanted=all

Hard to imagine paying $2800 for a non-removable lens FF camera, but I guess it should provide high-quality photos as a "walkaround" camera. For sure, my DSLR rig is awfully heavy and bulky to carry around...

Is there anything of special interest to the macro community in these new camera bodies?

Those you can turn off, it seems.
The sensor dust issue (photographic tests, section 11) looks horrible though, for a fixed-lens camera.

True But then you have CA and vignetting when shooting wide open .
A little to much for the price IMO .
