That's quite near the New price, but they aren't easy to find, depending where you are.

Who normally sells them? There is no mention of any prices on the JML website.

My post was replying to this:
I also saw 2 Nikon CFI60 10X Plan NA 0.25 infinite objectives in that store, both naked with no box but looked just like new ones. I bought one of them by US$ 293 but don't know if this is cheap or expensive...
I think yours crossed.;)

That's quite some optical candy store you've found there.
The used CFI you bought is very pricy. I bought one for 100$ and some members even for less.

A quick look on fleabay learned that prices have risen quickly.
The posts and the results on this forum may be part of the reason it did.

Makes me hoping you got a good deal on the little family of JML's.

Sounds like that store just rubbed me... the JML weren't cheap either.

I saw the list price of JML 21mm to be US$400, is this price acceptable to people here?

Hm, sincere apologies if I'm confusing posts but your now edited first post had a somewhat different figure for the whole job lot.

Taken in account that the JML also needs a custom build mount the list price of $400 for a surplus lens would be way overpriced.
You would end up with a workable lens at $ 450-$500.
It is just way too steep for a surplus lens, but that's just my wallet speaking....

I've asked the store where I bought it to make an special adapter to mount the JML 21mm with 42mm male thread on the end, let's see if they can make it.

If these adapters works, the usability (and the value) of the JML+adapter I think may be higher than just lenses along.

Thanks for pointing that out Johan, I seem to have missed the initial figure in the unedited post.
Feel free to insert a "Cha-ching" sound somewhere within these lines.

Your first post in this thread, you mentioned it had a box of them for sale for like $35/$45 or so?

Just seems silly to ask the community to go for the list price, 100 times higher than the purchase price. Please let me be wrong on this.
Take an example from Richard, who got us all a good deal on purchasing JML's with no profit in mind, even got us bargain price.

I've said $35-45? I don't even remember that. How to see my original post? I'd love to check what I have wrote in my unedited post.

Again: Please let me be wrong on this one, and my sincere apologies if I'm confused, but hey, 400 $ a piece ? for a surplus lot ?
It's like artificially keeping a price high, ebay does a better job at that.
And it is also not in the spirit of this community to profit.

So would I!

I'll be the first to apologise if my memory is playing tricks on me, but I could have sworn that when I initially read the first post in this thread it had a sum in it (which I took as a sum for the whole box). It seemed an amazing price and I remembered thinking that this is very much like something arranged by another member, a 20x deal, whereby someone facilitates others getting hold of a great value item. The sum mentioned was something like 30,40,50 US, around there somewhere. Mid 100s, well shy of 3 figs.

So I nearly fell of my chair when I see this being offered at 400US each

I am very aware that maybe it's my imagination playing tricks on me so I've already mailed Rik the admin to see if this forum script keeps backup copies of post edits. I hope it does. I'm really not the type to go around levelling accusations without some sort of substance behind it and to be honest I'd far rather I were mistaken in this. So again I will apologise if it's my bad memory or my over optimistic imagination.
