Hello,
a few weeks ago Jotafoto and I started a new website, first we wanted to run iit in Spanish but we want to have guests and many of them use English so we did it in English too
To start the tests section I run a full frame test involving 12 lenses; as there are quite a few pictures I may just better put the link here rather than the whole test.

I would love to hear your thoughts
Regards
Javier

Did you use the Rodagons stopped down?
I compared my Rodagon 50 2.8 (which looks very different to yours) against El Nikkor 50 2.8. To my suprise the Rodagon was much weaker wide open, but stopped down a little ~to 5.6 it was a tack better than the El Nikkor, with much better overall contrast and colors.
And the Rodagon had also much better flare control bye the way.
But there are different versions of both lenses I think.
Maybe we should slaugther some microfilm viewers to find a "new JML 21mm"

I've seen some lenses for microfilm rear projection which were looking similar.seta666 wrote:Those noname lenses are some short of scanner/industrial lenses; I call them noname as I have no clue of who made them but they do work very well

Fantastic comparative job!.
The "no Name lens" remind me a lot to the objectives that used the "compose photolithos texts" machines in the old 90's. Like a very specialized enlarger lens...
And yes, my Fuji does not makes me very happy...
I have a stupid question. In what position are mounted JML objectives?. I never knew if the text goes forward or backward ...

The rodagons were used in reverse position and stopped to f4 (like the JML 50mm), the performance was very weak and the APO lens was not very "APO"macrochemistry wrote:Did you use the Rodagons stopped down?

You have top remember that this is a full frame test, maybe with an APS-C camera results would be different
It cenrtainly is ;-)Harold Gough wrote:A very welcome comparison. Isn't it annoying when "noname" lenses do so well?![]()

Glad you like it, the truth is that we only have one comment so far, maybe there is something wrong with the comments moduleCraig Gerard wrote:Javier,

Someone told me it may be an industrtial scanner lens but I do not know for sure; their performance is very good from center to corner even at low magnification on full frame camerassoldevilla wrote:Fantastic comparative job!.

Regarding the JML lenses; the 21mm text forward, the 26mm text backwards
