Canon ST - E2 Speedlite Transmittor

Post by stevekale »

I have been playing around with my macro rig for the first time today. The rig seems to work fine but let's just say I have a lot to learn about lighting tiny things - women are so much easier to light! No doubt I will be back here with lots of questions but my first relates to the Canon ST - E2. In running a couple of stacks this afternoon I found that even though I had red (charged) lights on both the ST-E2 and the 580EX, every now and then the flash didn't fire. The 580EX was 54cm in front and to the left of the ST-E2 at about a 45 degree angle. The 580EX was snooted but there wasn't anything blocking the infrared panel at the front. Ideas? Solutions?

Regards

Steve
