EMF AF Confirm Adapters

EMF AF Confirm Adapters.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with EMF adapters?

What practical advantages do they offer?

There are a number of sellers offering EMF adapters on eBay.

Here is one example (I have not had any dealings with this seller).
Chip programming details at the base of the listing.

It lets you control what information gets recorded in the EXIF of your images. You can use that to reflect the actual lens you have screwed into the adapter, or you can program arbitrary combinations that mean something in terms of offline notes that you've kept. This contrasts with the earlier non-programmable adapters that always told the camera the same thing.
