Stackshot question

Post by cincy244 »

I am a new Stackshot user and trying to understand how to use it for the first time. It is set to auto step mode with the number of steps at 5. The camera is taking bursts of 4 shots five times then a burst of 2 for a total of 22 shots.
My expectation was 1 shot, rail movement, another shot etc for a total of 5 shots.
In the global config menu:
# of pics :1
tsettle: 2.0 sec
toff: 500.0 ms

In trying different modes I still get the bursts of 4 behavior. I checked the camera and bracketing is off. I am confused...

What 'mode' is the camera set to?

I'd use the reset to factory settings on the StackShot.
With StackShot powered off, hold down the DOWN button, and apply power. Once the splash screen shows up, release the DOWN button. This will load the factory defaults. It will NOT erase your saved settings.
I'll plug my StackShot in and maybe we can duplicate steps to isolate the cause behind the bursts.

I suspect your camera is set to fire repeatedly as long as the remote shutter release is held down. If it is, then either change that to be one exposure per press, or play with the StackShot's Tpulse setting to find one that is short enough to make the camera take just one picture.

Got it! I checked the shutter control and changed it to single, working fine now. I don't know how I overlooked that. Back to play with my new toy

Thanks for your help,

Allen
