Hm... eBay #170572870030: "Nikon CF Plan 50X ELWD Microscope Objective" - $175 (7 left). Good deal?

John,

It would appear so, based on the response in the last 12-24hrs.

Description in the listing details are brief. It's almost always a bit of a lucky-dip purchasing objectives.

I need to read this article again:

John,

This discussion (link below) is also worth serious consideration, with reference to 'image circle'.

I have enough things to work with at the moment; so, even though the price of the CF 50X referred to is good...I have put the brakes on a purchase.... =; (which is unusual for me :? )

Hi guys, I didn't see this at once, you may want to take it a bit easy with that seller, this is the same one as my lens, he obviously had one of the 50x since he shipped it to me, but how he managed to sell it as the 40x elwd which looks completetly different, and then not have a replacement when he shipped the wrong one I don't know, it's not like he has loads of items listed to mix up.

If you bought one, hopefully all is ok and he mislisted the 40x, if you haven't, well, roll your dice ;)
After all, he did ship a lens to me, so can't really see the point in doing it on purpose, unless the 40x is way more expensive in general.

Just a short update:
The seller was helpful in arranging a partial refund for the lens since he had no other 40x elwd to ship, and another buyer got shipped a 40X ELWD from the batch I bought from, so probably just a mistake.

As I remember on that occasion four M plans 40x elwd were sold by the same seller. I bought one of those. Today it arrived (the shipment to Macedonia from US takes 2-3 weeks) and that is what I paid for: well preserved Nikon M Plan 40 elwd.
