This is a beetle called Apriona rixator, from Manapla - Philippines
It is a 2x obtained with Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 lens, which behaves like one of the best lenses in that magnification

These are the parameters used:
Canon EOS 6D
Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 lens
Time: 1/4" - ISO100
Canon Auto Bellows
MJKZZ IR Remote Motion Controller + Newport M436 linear stage
Stacking. Nº photos: 143
Steps: 100 µm Approximate magnification: 2x
Illumination: 3 x 8.5w led lights each, and homemade diffuser with 600ml EPS Foam Thermal Cup

Hola Javier,

great stack as usual, the lighting is exquisite and the detail is excellent. The position of the legs is the only thing that I think could be improved. I find it a bit unnatural and distracting.

Very nice; I would love to see a tutorial on postproduction from those of you who know how to get those deep blacks and colours, it is something I was never fully satisfied with..
What LED lights do you use?

Sobre lo que pregunta Seta666, bueno, la iluminación utilizada y los difusores ya lo indico al principio del hilo, básicamente son lámparas de IKEA tuneadas con estas bombillas

Aunque creo que las próximas que compre tendrán menos ángulo de abertura, estas tienen demasiado y tengo menos control.
Pero creo que lo importante en esta iluminación son los difusores creados a partir de vasos grandes de Poliestireno expandido FOAM EPS.

Sobre el procesado de las fotos es complicado, porque cada cual tiene sus manías. Creo que es el resultado de muchas horas dedicado a tratar estas fotos durante los últimos años. No sabría decirte cómo consigo esos colores o esos negros, creo que es un poco de cada cosa.
Ojalá podamos comentarlo un día en profundidad.

I very seldom post but after seeing your image...........Wow........make that Double Wow!!!! =D>
Since I have retired and I've rekindled a love for photography. I don't take myself serious but I do take creating interesting and well executed images seriously.
