Flea

Post by gpmatthews »

I have been cataloguing my slide collection and thought this 19th century slide entitled "Male Flea" looked nice, so here's a photo:

Image

Microscope: Zeiss Standard
Ocular: Zeiss KPL-W 10/18
Objective: Zeiss 1.6/0.03 - 5/0.1
Brightfield/Flash
Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Graham

Though we lean upon the same balustrade, the colours of the mountain are different.

That would make a wonderful poster or cover for a health clinic?

Amazing when you think how old the slide is:

Very nice indeed. A classic subject and a beautiful slide done justice to.

Fantastic! Unfortunately our dog occasionally brings these home, must try and photograph one sometime.
Do you know what the spiral arrangement is near the read? Would it be the springing mechanism?

I don't know what the "tail" is - I don't think they jump Zebbeddee-like, however: they use those big back legs!

Perhaps someone with better knowledge of flea anatomy can enlighten us?
