Amoeba, mostly its test

An Amoeba, it looks like it might be Centropyxis or related.

It was quite "shy" while I was observing it.

Nice images -- a good combination of detail in the test and also in the pseudopods.

I am not sure what "shy" means. Putting out only a few pseudopods, perhaps?

Thanks. I did try a stack with the test, but it rotated slightly as I was taking pictures, and the pictures did not successfully align, both with Zerene stacker and CombineZP.

Yes, "shy" because the amoeba was putting out only a few pseudopods, then quickly withdrawing them. It didn't noticeably leave its shell at all when I had it in darkfield.
