An overvew of this weevil, whose memorable portrait appeared at

This one was a single shot through my Wild M8 stereo microscope, i.e. not stacked. It was actually still alive and just about to march off! Apparently you can tell this weevil from the Acorn Weevil by the ridge of scales towards the rear of the suture (not v. visible here), so I hope I got the ident right...
