Been away from the scope last week since I had a cataract procedure for my left eye with the right eye coming up next week. Quite an experience, but it's mostly the problems of having a new and improved eye and a marginal eye.
Anyway, it gave me some time to experiment with acid wash of pond water. This is a set from water treated with Muriatic Acid, aka Hydrochloric Acid (HCl). It pretty much bleaches various things such as chlorophyll and the pigments in Arcella tests. In diatoms, it bleaches out the chlorophyll but leaves the structure of the chromoplasts intact.
Amphora and Amphora fission.

Odontinium
Amoeba test. The acid doesn't break down whatever the cement is the amoeba uses to fabricate its test.
Incidentally, these are all color shots.
