Every time I see diatoms I am reminded of the "Blind Watchmaker" (Dawkins). Just how could something so exquisite and beautiful evolve from nothingness? You would think that there had to be a "watchmaker," there had to be?

I believe that's about as nice a view of girdle bands as I've ever seen.
