Soil Organisms; Spathiida

Post by SW_Perspective »

Ciliate, Haptorid, Spathiida

About 150 microns in length. Oral apparatus along anterior edge. Single contractile vacuole posterior. I do not see the nucleus. Some kinities seen running from anterior edge, parallel to lateral sides. Oblique illumination and phase contrast.
Non-flooded soil culture technique. I do not know the genus.

Soil from a hedgerow next to an agricultural field and under elm trees.
