Rotifer for ID please. I have never seen anything like this in any of my reference materials.

You don’t give a scale but is it possible that this is the skeletal remains of the head of a larvae, that looks like the remains of a mandible on the left and the overall shape and construction looks similar.

Duh. Thank you. Of course. I agree with your analysis. Oddly, this is the first time I saw a larvae that large or of that type.
An interesting note about those annoying larvae. The other day I had avery clean Testuindella lined for a stack when a larva had the poor taste to trash through my field of view. I now put pond water in a testube with glutaraldehyde or Pennfix at the start of a microscopy session. It appears to collapse larvae, but also amoebae.
