Not a very good shot but I found these things to be interesting in how they form a radial mass when grouped together.

Euglena acus

Canon A570IS
Zeiss Axiostar Plus 40X/0.65 CP Achromat
Brightfield (B & W conversion)

I see these quite regularly as individuals, but I've never seen a grouping like this.

Wonder what the deal is?
