Radiolarians in the sea

Post by Saul »

Nikon D7200, 116 photos, Nikon 50x 0.55 ∞, Nikon Microphot with Reichert tube lens, DIATOM LAB di Stefano Barone slide, stacked with PS, setup is very similar to https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/ ... 169#257169, except instead Nikon Abbe 1.25 condenser with insert, I used modified AO Abbe 1.5 condenser.

Those turned out nicely Saul. I also liked the larger image.

This is very pretty!

I am curious about the overall workflow. Is the radiolarian that appears to be in the background artificially blurred and shrunk to look distant?

It is my first try with radiolarians - just got couple DIATOM LAB di Stefano Barone slides (radiolarians & diatoms), some new objectives from ebay, printed new stuff for illumination, very good reason to spent some time testing new stuff ...

Yes, you are right :), it is blurred, but size is unchanged. And that greenish cast is from the polarisation, did not touch it.
