Stentor polymorphus, darkfield

Post by ralfwagner »

Hello,

this one shows a darkfield shot of Stentor polymorphus. I used no flash, therefore there is an unsharpness in the cilia and the stentor's body. But I think that just this unsharpness gives us a good impression of the movement of that critter.

Beautiful, very impressive picture!!! Stentor is so nice darkfield subject and your image is excellent! I agree, the blur effect nicely emphasizes the motion.

What few stentors I have seen make for some interesting observations, though I have never seen any with what appears to be a symbiotic algae present in them. Really a good shot here Ralf. :D
