Euglena spirogyra

Post by Bernd »

Hello:

Last weekend I found some Euglene spirogyra in a puddle. One specimen was so kind to lay still and flat for a photoshooting. On the left image you can see the nucleus a little to the left of the middle of the cell, two big and many small paramylon grains, many chloroplast, the red eyespot, and on top, a little out of focus, the flagella. The right image is focused on the warts on the pellicula.

Image

Canon Powershot G5, Zeiss Axioskop, Plan-Neofluar 100x/1,30Oil, brightfield illumination.

Beautiful Bernd!

Though we lean upon the same balustrade, the colours of the mountain are different.
