PZO DIC

Post by Smokedaddy »

I've never attempted DIC before and wasn't sure what to expect. I started working with the PZO DIC setup a few days ago again after several weeks reading and acquiring help from members here. Looks like I am getting closer to figuring out how to use it. Here are a few experiments on some diatoms using a dry objective. Constructive comments, tips and tricks are always welcome.

Thanks ... I had a lot of trouble nailing this one with this objective. This is the best I could do with many tries.

Nice! Are the colors altered or is this the way they show through the eyepieces?

I did mask the diatom, rotated it, removed the other diatoms and modified the background color since it wasn't uniform at all as you can see in the example below. So in Photoshop I used the eye dropper to pick purple in the image then painted the entire background that color. None of the colors were modified and yes that's what you see through the eyepieces. I am still new to DIC and making the necessary adjustments. This was a stack done in Zerene. I was trying to achieve a purple background and this is the closest I was able to get with my skill set.
