Thanks for your nice comments.

Beatsy, these are citric acid. Here I have first let the solution dry a bit on the slide and then tilted the slide so that the last liquid drop distributes thinly on clean slide surface. Sometimes this produces nice shapes and not just the common crystal flowers.

I am also using here some diy wave plate retardes made from cellophan wrap which widens nicely the colors available.

edit. corrected ascorbic to citric.
