Euglena encysts

When environmental conditions are unfavorable some protozoa, such as Euglena video, encysts.
When conditions improve excyst passing, in the case of Euglena, again to flagellate stage.

An exceptional video! Thanks very much for sharing it. The one time I watched one enter the cyst state, it lost its flagellum toward the end. Could you tell if the flagellum broke off at any point?

If, at a certain moment Euglena misses the flagellum.
When passing the stadium palmeloide misses the flagellum
