It seems to be an opaque subject. I guess you have taken this photo with epi illumination, haven't you ? I would like to know what was the original colour of this subject, because it seems to be converted to B&W during processing.
The riddle is to difficult for me, at least now :)

By the way, very good quality of the image.

It was very tricky in my opinion...

The image shows balls from destroyed bearing covered with dirty grease...

Marek - absolutely no processing like converting to B&W, but yes I used epi illumination :)
