Great images and very interesting! Thank you for sharing.

I have not seen a ciliate that is nearly perfectly circular like this one - are there any known ones? Edit: I found some, though they don't look quite the same:

Or could it be pressed flat by cover slip pressure? I assume Waldo's 20x objective is not an oil immersion one with NA over 1.25?

Not an immersion objective. I do believe there was some pressure as water was evaporating.

Nope sorry - the organism was very stationary at the time.
