An algal star

Post by Wolfgang Bettighofer »

Today I only want to show a nice picture of a nice algal model:
Micrasterias rotata.
Allways a pleasure to find them...
The german name is "Zieralge", that means "an adornment alga". That's what it is, really!
Image
Micrasterias rotata
40/1.00, DIC
3W Luxeon
10 shots stacked and stitched manually
Olympus C7070

Have a nice weekend,
Wolfgang

Boy is that ever a "crisp" and detailed image... it just jumps right out at you!
Well done Wolfgang!

Hi Wolfgang--

I agree with Charlie, that's just about a perfect DIC image. Wow. I need to go down to the pond and refresh my culture jar.
