"Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar, but has fewer calories and doesn’t raise blood sugar levels."
The photos are from a large crystal specimen, approximately 24mm x 50mm.
Photos 1 - 4 were taken through a compound polarizing microscope, (Labomed LB-592) with a Meiji 2.5x PL and a 2x obj.
Photos 5 - 8 were taken through a stereo microscope with a DIY polarizing kit, (Zeiss Stemi 305Edu) with a B&L 5x PL and a .8x obj.
