Help ID Chlamydomonas?

Post by carlos.uruguay »

Among the inhabitants of the freshwater lake of Parque Rodó
quarries, Montevideo - Uruguay - South America
we have found these unicellular algae.
Measured between 6um (0.006mm) and 10um (0.01mm) in diameter.
Have a red eye and two flagella.
Sometimes there are many in a gelationsa cover.
It is probably Chlamydomonas genre because we see in some of them a more intense green spot that we assume
it is the pyrenoid present in that genre.
Oblique polarized light.

Great video at such high magnification!
What light source do you use? Halogen, LED or mercury lamp? What wattage or lumen output? Thank you!

Thank you zzffnn and Jacek.
I doubt between Chlamydomonas and Chloromonas

zzffnn, I use this LED light source:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262002762736
with a 21KHZ Dimmer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252004116458
(because a dimmer lower frequency produces black bands in the video)
