Hello,

here are some shots of lichen that is living most time under water:

- Habitus. Thallus 15 - 35 mm, lobes slightly curved with a single holdfasts, green when wet, greybrown when dry. Undersidedarkbrown, smooth with thin brown veines. Perithieciae numerous, Spores 19 x 6 µm, simple, ellipsoid. Chemistry: J-. On siliceous rocks at often inundated places like brooksides or dripping rocks.

Very nice oblique illuminated images !
Did you use any microtome or just your fingers ?

Sometimes I also cut the sections by hand. The used technique is described also in the link given above.
