Beautiful images. Looks like a pupa of some fly, possibly a midge (Chironomidae), but I'm not even sure of that family.

Midge larva

I don't hink it is a midge larva because of the absence of the "feet" on the tail end. Gnat larva might be a good possibility.

Shed skin of the pupa of a midge - probably either Dixidae or Chaoboridae.
