Batrachospermum II (closer view), image added

The closer view shows also diatoms which are very common. Some of them are gathered in some special packets which I've never seen before. I will try to prepare the image showing these packs in the next post. I hope there is somebody who could help me with ID of these diatoms.

Hi,

at this magnification, any attempt at an ID for your diatoms is a guess.

My guess is Eunotia naegelii - based mainly on the two elongate curved cells towards the top centre of your image.

BTW, the two Batrachospermum images are superb - congratulations and thank you for posting!

Thank you guys for your ideas ! I think it looks the most similar to Eunotia. Unfortunately I do not have any image in bigger magnification.
By the way could you explain me why some of these diatoms are gathered in special "capsules" ? One of them is presented in the image below. This "capsule" is just above the small desmid in the middle of the image.
