Spirogyra

Post by Olympusman »

Thanks, guys. The springs I have been working this winter are very rich in spirogyra, so I am am seeing some lovely species. I'm also seeing a lot of mutations. It may be because of the excessive amounts of Radon around here. Recently there was an alert in our area when a home tested for 3715 picoCuries per liter and other homes tested above 1000 pCi/L. In Pennsylvania, according to the state EPA, homes ar 4 pCi/L or higher should have Radon reduction measures installed, which is essentially ventilation.
