The Pleuronema membranes in slow motion

Post by carlos.uruguay »

We found this ciliate in marine waters,
on the shores of Cuchilla Alta - Uruguay - South America.
Measures about 58um (0.058mm) long.
It has long terminal cilia and a wide "membranes" with form of "sail"
In the video we show the movement of the membranes in slow motion.
Phase contrast objective 40X.
