The hook flagellate, probable Neobodo curvifilus

Post by carlos.uruguay »

We found this small flagellate in the heavily polluted water from a vase.
Water with many bacteria and fungi.
Water with very little oxygen.
Its body measures about 10um long.
From its anterior end born two flagella.
One more short hook-shaped led forward
Another more long facing backwards.
We suppose that it may be Neobodo curvifilus.
Phase contrast, 100X immersion objective
