All the descriptions say Carolina, what that means?

Thanks for the comments. Carolina refers to the company where I purchased these samples - http://www.carolina.com. This was the only way I could get my hands on these living cells. They do not seem to occur in Canada - at least, I have never seen one taken from samples in BC and Alberta. Right now I am culturing four species. Will see how that goes.

From what I have found Pediastrum aren't really that ubiquitous. I might find one in 50 water drops and those may not be a clear shot but marred by the usual pond bottom clutter, so be patient.
